SNIPER ELITE IV ITALIA [2017] STEAM PC REVIEW

      🏆🏆  MASTERPIECE  🏆🏆

Sniper Elite 4 was released in 2017 with great critical acclaim. Rebellion expanded upon everything that made Sniper Elite Africa good. The game gives players an empowering Sandbox and the tools to make their own experience. You can make it about sniping Nazis and enjoying the slow-motion carnage, skip the cutscenes and secondary objectives. Or you can also ghost the German Army, accomplish every objective, and sabotage military material and strategic objectives without ever being detected, killing only the minimum enemies to avoid detection. Or you can go guns blazing and create chaos and disarray in german troops.

Rebellion delivered a masterpiece! once again I was addicted to the combat loop that has been further expanded. Some aspects still need to be improved, the graphics are superior to the previous installment and look great in some parts... I can't tell if it's draw distance or lacks landscape details from the creative design, but something looks plain and dated here too, but some textures like the Nazi's uniforms and trucks textures look amazing but some world textures look plain and unpolished. The weapon variety and customization are welcome but also fail to deliver, as many rifles have the same feel and shooting mechanics. The introduction of silencers is the main feature for me. It changes the sniping formula as you no longer need to sync your shots with passing planes, artillery fire, or weather noise like thunders or storms to mask your shots. It uses a mechanic that is silly in implementation but necessary in nature. You need to use "silenced bullets" a special type of munition in order to produce silenced shots. I think it's necessary, otherwise, unlimited silenced sniper fire would break the game structure making it too easy and pointless.

Despite its shortcomings, Sniper Elite Italy is an amazing experience for me. I would like a plot with more complex, deep characters and some storytelling elements diving into strategic battles that took place like operation husky (Sicily) or Operation Avalanche (Italy). I guess the plot is again, an excuse to blow the brains of several Nazi officers and sabotage their evil plans once again, and that works for me too as the gameplay, ghost mechanics, and sniping are awesome fun! There is a unique feel when you leave the area of operations after completing every objective without being noticed, you feel powerful as you ghost the German war machine over and over.
